OXIDIZED LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN, HUMAN

Packaging:   Oxidized LDL is membrane filtered and aseptically packaged in a solution        containingphosphate-buffered saline at pH 7.4 and < 1 uM EDTA-.NA2.

Preparation:   Human LDL (Cat. No. JSK-6001 ) (which was purified to homogeneity via
ultra-centrifugation(1.019-1.063g/cc)) is oxidized using 5uM Cu 2 SO 4 (oxidant) in PBS at 37°C for20 hours. Oxidation is terminated by adding excess EDTA-.NA2. Each lot is analyzed on agarosegel electrophoresis for migration versus LDL. This lot of OxLDL migrates 2.0fold further than thenative LDL.

TBARS:     TBARS is determined colorimetrically by using Malondialdehyde as a standard.

                  Starting LDL 0.17 nmoles of MDA/mg Protein
                  Ox-LDL 20.9 nmoles of MDA/mg Protein

Storage &
Stability:    This product is stable for 6 weeks after receipt when handled aseptically and stored at 2-8°C.NEVER FREEZE.

Special Note:  After prolonged storage,some precipitate may be observed. This is normal for this product.Clarify outthe aggregates by spinning in a microfuge for 2 minutes.

Biological     Sample lots of JSK Oxidized LDL are evaluated for receptor binding to
Activity:     peritoneal macrophages in conjunction with our DiI-Ox-LDL and [I-125] Ox-LDL

*Preparations of Oxidized LDL are fairly unstable; plan your experiments in advance and use fresh material.
